Wow. I can't believe that USC is that close to #1... UCLA & Cal seem to be underrated. I assumed that #2 through #8 would be close in points - at least we got a couple of first place votes!

Oregon and Oregon St are breaking in new QBs so I'll be surprised if they finish 1st and 3rd...the PAC-10 is wide open this year, it'll be very interesting to see how it all shakes out.
I wish we could find out who actually picked us to finish 9th. That's one step above Wazzu. That implies whoever made that vote is not objective or very uninformed. Unprofessional, either way...../

We have to play the games.
Just as Michigan went down to Ap State @ home, we have to come to play every game. to avoid the Nebraska thing again.
I realize that chemestry is not as big a factor in FB as BB, but Oregon seems to be on the brink of some internal issues within that program, that could be a factor this year.
UCLA has room with the talent they have, to be the biggest turn around team in the PAC this year. However, like I said, we havn;t played a game yet.
It would seem that AZ has the most to PROVE, or gain, this year.
The first thing that has to happen is that the PAC teams need to win!
The non-conference matchups with the other power conferences.
The Tennessee's, Iowa's, etc.....so the conference will not be looked upon as a lesser conference like we were in BB last year.
That is how we get the two BCS teams.
Oregon is completely STACKED at every position except QB. I'm too lazy to do research, but I think that LaMichael James is only suspended for one game. USC & UCLA have a ton of talent, but you're correct - they're too young to win the entire conference.
It is hard to have a great season if you won't go to a bowl no matter what.
The Holiday Bowl will go down as the best thing that has ever happened to Arizona football. That team had a certain swagger about them, and thought they couldn't be beat. Devin Ross and Cam Nelson are a perfect example of this swagger. They thought their sh*t didn't stink. Now we have guys like Marcus Benjamin, who is relatively unproven CB at the D1 level (save USC game). I think he makes the transition well, and he and T. Wade prove to be more dominating than Cason and Fontenot. Is that a bold statement? Yes it is, cosidering both Cason and Fontenot were both 4 year starters. T. Wade is going to be just as good as Cason, and Benjamin will be better than Fontenot.
This new defense has guys who are going to play with a chip on their shoulder, i.e. undersized, hometown LB Fischer, and J.C. LB Earls. Elmore and Reed will keep the D in check, and they will be the second coming of The Desert Swarm, imo.
Greg Brown and Tim Kish have both been around the block many times, Brown with NFL experience and Kish being all over college football. Collectively, they have 65 years of football coaching experience (Kish with 35, Brown with 30). They have already begun to mesh well together, and have put together defensive schemes that will put out defense in position to create turnovers and confuse offenses.
The offense doesn't need any explanantion as to why they are going to be successful. They return 9 starters, with a stable of WR's and RB's this school has never seen before. Foles will be able to command this offense, and take The University of Arizona to the promise land of roses. Grigsby, Antolin, Tutogi, and Nwoko are going to be able to keep defenses honest, which will help open up the passing game even more.
If you can't get excited about this U of A football team, then you must not have a beating heart. No matter what the turnout of the season, this team is going to put on one hell of a show!
^^ Good post he hate me. T. Wade is a baller, used to call himself "Baby Champ". He has the talent to be one of the top corners in the country but he did get burned deep a few times last year, so he still has room for improvement. should be his year to shine though
Who's gonna be our starting safeties? Perk and Golden? Where does Adam Hall fit in in the secondary?

If Elmore and Reed can stay healthy they will lead the ruckus the D will cause allowing the cb's and safeties to get some pick 6's
Yep looks like Perk & Golden. Hall will get time at safety with with spurts at nickel & LBer too it looks like. Marquis Flowers is bound to put himself in the rotation too and he'd do the same as Hall. Of course the starters could easily change after fall practice starts, ya never know.
And when "The Cheetah" D takes the field it will be ALL SPEED!
There may be a lack of starters on D, but not a lack of experience or Talented Depth.
Except the LBer corps obviously.
