Last month, Rondae Jefferson received the news that he was selected to play in the 2012 Under Armour Elite 24 in Venice Beach, Ca.

“I was honored to be chosen to represent my city in the Elite 24 game,” Jefferson told “Ever since I was a kid I’ve dreamed about making this game, the McDonald’s game, and the Jordan Brand Classic.”

All star games are usually tailor-made for guards and it can be difficult for wings and post players to get the ball.

“If I don’t get the ball then I’ll try and get every rebound,” Jefferson said. “There are always ways to get the ball and impact the game.”

The Arizona staff has made the 6’6 forward from Chester, PA their top priority in the 2013 class. Jefferson displays exceptional athleticism, a solid frame, and the ability to finish at the rim.

Jefferson is being recruited by Arizona head coach Sean Miller and assistant coach Book Richardson.

“They tell me that I’m a great fit for their program and that I could compete for a starting spot,” said Jefferson. “They’ve also been telling me how great the atmosphere is.”

PGU reported earlier this week that Jefferson would be visiting and we have confirmed the dates.

Jefferson will get the chance to see Arizona this week as he visits August 21st-22nd before he heads to Venice Beach for the Elite 24 game.

Arizona will looking to get a commitment from Jefferson, although he has said he wants to announce his decision on his birthday (January 3rd).

Jefferson will be on campus as students return to school and the atmosphere is sure to be electric. Will it be enough for Jefferson to give a verbal commitment to Sean Miller? Can Book Richardson get his man and add another top 10 recruit to his resume?

Sean Miller knows that for Arizona to win, he must be able to recruit nationally at the highest level. Jefferson would be a monumental pull for Arizona because he could be the best wing in the class of 2013. His commitment would fill a major need and be a reminder that the Arizona brand can go into any gym in the country and get players. That’s what Rondae Jefferson represents and that’s why he is a must get for Arizona.

Stay tuned to this week for all your Rondae Jefferson coverage.
