Recruiting Arizona’s Frontcourt

So let’s get to the question we may be pondering for the next 6 months.

Who is going to be the first big man to join the Wildcats’ 2015 class? California big man Chance Comanche has been prioritized all spring and summer long by Sean Miller and Arizona so I can’t see him going anywhere else. I’m sure Comanche will enjoy his official visits but his official visit to Arizona on September 13th should be the only one that matters.

So if Comanche pledges to Arizona, who will join him to round out the 2015 front court?

As of now, big men Stephen Zimmerman, Ivan Rabb, and Caleb Swanigan are the top three contenders.

Damon Stoudamire has recently picked it up with Swanigan after Tyler Davis committed to Texas A&M over the weekend. However, it will still be a tough pull for Arizona with Michigan State considered the favorite.

Arizona will do their best to keep either Zimmerman or Rabb on the west coast. If Rabb does stay out west it will likely be at Cal or Arizona. Assistant Joe Pasternack has recruited him for years and has been the catalyst for the recent full court press on Rabb.

Zimmerman is still wide open but Arizona and lead recruiter Book Richardson have a great relationship with the family. And as time moves on that hour flight from Las Vegas to Tucson becomes more and more appealing with how Arizona is reloading in 2015.

Rabb is scheduled to visit for the Red/Blue game and Zimmerman is scheduled to visit on November 7th.

Three assistant coaches are recruiting four targets for the future frontcourt. Who will it be?

Not so sure who I would want but I think Rabb would be the simple pick but I think if I had the choice I still think Rabb would be at the top of my list.
I feel like he could bring more to the program than the other two and still have a lot of room to develop while at Arizona.

I think that any of these kids would be a great addition to the players we’ve already got in the class and we’re gonna need frontcourt help right away. They all seem to be good, smart kids that happen to be damn good basketball players which seems to fall in line with our latest signees as well. No matter who we end up with from this group, we’re gonna be well off. Thanks for breaking this all down.

We get Rabb, and we can play the triangle…..forget about center…….Rabb, Rustic, Trier, Smith, and Simon, starting 5, with Craig Victor and Parker-Cartwright coming off the bench playing lots of minutes.

Puh-leeze up the saturation on your font! The 40%(?) GRAY is hard to read with any reflection at all on the screen. Makin’ us squint. Why?
