A prospect the Arizona coaching staff is sure to not lose track of is 2017 power forward Ira Lee. The 6’8 200 plus pound Lee looks to improve upon his display over the summer that turned some heads along the way and so far Miller and Co. have not lost focus with the recruit.

Being one of the top players in the west the former Arizona native has since made strides in his game and looks to impress with his newly developed skillet.

Lee-10-4-289“The last time I talked to you I was just really looking to improve my balance coming off picks, changing speeds and improvement on my jumper,” he told PGU.

“The jumpshot could always be better but I stay in the gym to work on that all of the time. Just ball handling and balance are the main things for me,” he said.

When PGU was in attendance at different showcases over the summer we noticed how Lee had a steady improvement and was hungry to showcase where his health was at physically.

Now, clearly having his legs back and his shoulder back at 100% Lee looks to show what made him such an intriguing prospect leading up to that injury.

“I’m just happy to have my motor back and have the ability to play tough again. When I hurt my shoulder that part of my game was missing but now it feels great,” he said.

Confidence is something that will never lack for Lee, however, he is itching to get back on the floor.

“Im still not where I want to be at. All summer and really since the summer ended I was just putting myself through a lot to get to where I am now.”

“Right now my focus is on the season and bouncing back. Last year I wasn’t able to compete with my guys and that was really hard but I’m excited to be back,” he told PGU. But with the year well under way the Arizona coaching staff has done a good job letting Lee know where he stands on their board.

“I talk to them all of the time. Pastnernack and Miller are in constant contact with me and let me know where I stand with them and that feels good, I like that.”

Lee who has spent time on the Arizona campus twice in the past is looking to visit again, unofficially and the new look cats stand to make an impression on the power forward once again.

“It’s just crazy energy in there and its like that all of the time.”
