With the recruiting period underway again the Arizona coaching staff has been making their rounds across the homes of potential recruits. One of those battles that is well underway is for Arizona product Mitch Lightfoot.
Arizona, Kansas, Stanford, Utah and St. Johns are heavily pursuing the 2016 recruit and recently completed in home visits with Lightfoot and his family. Arizona head coach Sean Miller as well as assistant Joe Pasternack spent the evening with the 4-star talent and Lightfoot came away impressed with what he heard.
“The in-home with Coach Miller was awesome,” he told PGU. “He just has a great plan for these next couple of years.”
“They just really drove home the fact that my intangibles give me a great chance of succeeding there,” he said.
Those intangibles include outworking people as Lightfoot has really developed his game throughout his high school career and looks to improve as he heads into his senior year.
As the time inches closer for Lightfoot to pull the trigger on a school and lock in a commitment, Lightfoot is keeping an open mind.
“They know it’s going to be a battle but Arizona is my last visit and they’re banking on my official,” he said.
Arizona will host Lightfoot October 10th for his last official as he has already taken trips to Utah and Stanford with Kansas and St. John’s left in that order.
Momentum will build leading up to that visit as Arizona looks to try and secure Lightfoot for the 2016 class.
