Sean Miller and the Arizona staff will be in Las Vegas this week to recruit and visit a number of players including 2015 Stephen Zimmerman, 2016 Derryck Thornton Jr, 2015 Allonzo Trier and 2015 Ray Smith. The staff makes its best impression in numbers and they will utilize that on this trip.

On Tueday, Damon Stoudamire will be in Southern California to watch 2016 post Ike Anigbogu along with Vance Jackson, Cody Riley and Ira Lee before heading to Las Vegas.

Sean Miller and Book Richardson will have an in home visit with Zimmerman on Wednesday and it will offer Arizona the chance to make up more ground in the recruitment. Kansas, UCLA and Kentucky are the schools Arizona will have to beat in order to land Zimmerman. He will also officially visit Arizona on 11/7.

Arizona will also visit Ray Smith to see how he is doing 8 weeks after tearing his ACL. If they’ve been checking out PGU they probably already know how well his recovery is going but will get to see it in person. And it’s no secret how great the relationship between Damon Stoudamire and the Smith’s has become so I’m sure it’s going to be more bro hugs than handshakes.

Arizona will also visit Findlay Prep to see Trier and Thornton Jr. while in Vegas. Trier and Thornton Jr. make up the best high school backcourt in the country this season and Arizona already has half of the duo committed to the Wildcats. Now Trier just has to make sure Thornton Jr. averages 15 assists this season.

The coaching staff has been working out with the team in groups of four and just completed the annual mile run over the weekend. This week they will switch to recruiting and strengthening their relationships with the 2015 class.

It’s comforting for fans to know they have a coaching staff that works harder than the rest and that’s a major reason Arizona Basketball Never Stops.

But the staff will need a little luck to land any more recruits out of Vegas.

If Miller can come from behind and beat KU, UK, and UCLA for Zimmerman’s services, that might be Miller’s most impressive recruiting victory to date.

I still think the most impressive recruiting victory is pulling Tarc away from Kansas. He was all but committed and how Sean wedged his way in to that relationship is one of the seven wonders of the world. This is just my two cents.

Miller came from behind and beat Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina for Tarczewski’s services in 2012, so landing Zimmerman may just be another one of his impressive recruiting victories!

I don’t know who you guys have been listening to,.. but Arizona has never been behind in the recruitment for Zimmerman,.. Arizona has always been near the top of the list for him. If anything Calipari is making a strong push to come from behind for him,…

Not only that,.. UNLV and Arizona were the two main prediction on where Zimmerman was landing for a long time. Kansas is a long shot,.. but more experts are thinking Zimmerman will go to Kentucky with the LATE full court press Calipari is doing. He has had a done of coaches visit over the last few weeks. Arizona is still considered on of the main leaders and has been from the start,..
