Miles Norris is the latest prospect to receive an offer from the Wildcats, making it clear that Arizona is not done with their Southern California recruiting strategy. PGU was able to get an exclusive interview with an excited Norris a couple hours after his offer came in.
Norris is a skilled 2018 forward out of Mater Dei Catholic High School in San Diego. Listed at 6’8, Miles is a wiry big man with great touch around the basket and a solid jumpshot with range. Miles projects as a high major prospect because of his great length, he takes long athletic strides up the floor and likes to play above the rim.
“I was very excited about the offer, I know Arizona produces a lot of pros and I really like the program,” Norris said. He has been getting a lot of interest from Pac-12 schools and has already secured offers from Arizona, Washington, Washington St, Oregon, Utah and Cal. Norris plans to take a visit to Tucson to watch Arizona play Oregon St on January 30th.
Norris is just scratching the surface of his skill set. He has nice touch with both hands around the rim and displays superb confidence on the perimeter. As a big man, he can routinely hit the 15 footer and even stretch you out to the 3 point line. Norris uses excellent timing and length, which will make him a great shot blocker and rebounder at the next level.
Norris plays for Earl Watson Elite and is a good friend of current Arizona Wildcat Chance Comanche, who played for the same AAU program.
“Miles is tremendous young player with immense upside and potential. He is a very skilled high-level athlete. He has a high character and other players love to play with him,” said Ryan Silver, the Program Director for Earl Watson Elite.
