Arizona will welcome graduate transfer Mark Tollefsen, from the University of San Francisco. A 6-9 forward, Tollefsen will add immediate depth to Wildcats’ frontcourt as he is eligible to play for the 2015-16 season.
Tollefsen averaged 14 points and 5.4 rebounds in 31.3 minutes per game last season, on his way to a second team All-WCC selection. He also has shot better than 53% in each of his past three seasons, making him an effective scorer.
The mobile forward can also step out and hit the three point shot, where he shot 37.8% percent and made 1.3 per game.
Tollefsen is yet another west coast player to play for Arizona, hailing from Danville, California. Though he was lightly recruited out of high school, Tollefsen was viewed as a hidden gem who excelled at USF.
After visiting the Arizona campus, Tollefsen saw ebough to pull the trigger and transfer to play for Sean Miller. He figures to be a source of scoring and energy off the bench next season, and will bolster Arizona’s post attack.
