Arizona received a verbal commitment from Keanu Pinder, a native of Perth Australia. The 6-8 forward played most recently at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, the same JUCO program that produced senior Kadeem Allen.
After visiting Arizona earlier this week, Pinder decided to pull the trigger and verbally commit to the Wildcats.
Pinder played two seasons at Hutchinson, where he found success. After two seasons Pinder racked up the 4th most blocks in program history, and showed an aptitude for improvement.
At 6-8, Pinder has good size and length to play near the basket. But he also has a good shot from the three point line, allowing him to stretch the floor. He has experience playing both the small forward and power forward positions, and should provide depth to Arizona’s future front court.
Prior to playing at Hutchinson, Pinder decommitted from New Mexico. Pinder visited the University of South Carolina before his visit to Tucson, which was enough to solidify the decision for him.
Pinder was an adept rebounder at the Junior College level and should be able to add to the Wildcats’ front court rotation.
