The early signing period begins Wednesday, meaning players can sign their letters of national intent to attend their collegiate choice. Read below about some of the players Arizona is expected to welcome.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright, a Los Angeles point guard known for his maturity and floor game, is the next in a long line of Arizona point guards. Jackson-Cartwright plays at Loyola High School, where he was teammates with current UA walk-on Jacob Hazzard.
Jackson-Cartwright was Arizona’s first commitment in the class of 2014, announcing his decision in February of 2013.
Arizona also welcomes Craig Victor, a 6’7 forward from New Orleans. Victor is talented on the offensive end, where he scores around the hoop in a variety of ways. He should provide immediate depth to the front court in his freshman year.
Victor is currently attending Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. Findlay Prep is known for producing elite level basketball players, including current Arizona Wildcats Nick Johnson and Brandon Ashley. Findlay has produced a number of NBA players as well, including last year’s #1 pick of the NBA Draft, Anthony Bennett.
For the third year in a row Arizona will add a transfer player, this time junior college transfer Kadeem Allen. A 6’3 guard known for his scoring, Allen played at Hutchinson Junior College before choosing to attend Arizona. Allen was sought after by Kansas as well as Cincinnati.
Allen was considered one of the top junior college players, and even made first-team junior college All-American as a freshman. Allen will have two years of eligibility at the U of A.
