Sean Miller started another recruiting period by visiting 2015 Chance Comanche in Los Angeles yesterday. He flew to Las Vegas late last night and began recruiting this morning. Joe Pasternack, Damon Stoudamire and Book Richardson were also in Las Vegas.
Prioritizing Comanche with his visit only days away is a calculated move by Miller. No other coach wants Comanche more than Miller and as they say, actions speak louder than words.
Expect Arizona’s persistence in the Comanche recruitment to payoff sooner than later.
Arizona also visited 2016 TJ Leaf on Tuesday and the Wildcats have made up significant ground in the recruitment. In addition to Leaf, Arizona and UCLA paid a visit to 2016 Vance Jackson and the two schools seem to be the favorites to land the St. John Bosco wing.
Miller and Stoudamire started Wednesday by visiting 2015 Arizona commit Rekwon Smith at Las Vegas High School. Just 6 hours before that Smith was running for the first time since his surgery eight weeks ago. The Arizona staff then visited Stephen Zimmerman and Zach Collins at Bishop Gorman High School.
On Wedneday evening Miller and Richardson had an in-home visit with Zimmerman that lasted about an hour and a half.
“It went great,” Lori Zimmerman told PGU. “Sean answered all our questions. We talked about the new Bear Down dining facility, the teams chartered travel and what Stephen’s day would be like before the season and during the season.”
“It was like having a nice conversation with friends,” she added.
“We also discussed the strength and conditioning program and how it could help develop Stephen.”
Zimmerman will visit Arizona on 11/7 for an official visit.
Zimmerman is expected to make a decision after his high school season so it gives all the teams recruiting him plenty of time to gain position for his services.
