Arizona power forward Jordan Hill was taken as the eighth pick in the NBA draft on Thursday night by the New York Knicks.
The last time a former Arizona player was taken that high was former UA center Channing Frye. And it was by the Knicks in 2005.
The Madison Square Garden crowd mostly booed the selection. But what the Knicks are getting is the best Arizona big man since the late Brian Williams, who played in the early 1990s.[coverattach=1]
“It’s how they feel,’’ Hill said when asked about the Knicks’ fan reaction of the selection on ESPN. “I just got to go out there and do what I got to do and play basketball.’’
Hill is going to have a terrific future in the NBA. One thing he’ll need to do is get more polished when it comes to the media. If he thought Tucson was bad when it came to the media hounding him during the season, he hasn’t seen anything yet.

Should be a great fit for Jordan to play in D'Antoni's system.

Screw those Knicks fans. Just because their front office is terrible and they have to rely on their draft picks to try and save the franchise they gotta try to bring down someone that has made it. Do what you've been doiget yours.n Jordan prove everyone there wrong and get yours. The odds have been stacked against you all your life and now they areagain.

I missed the draft but who did NY knicks fans want? JHILL is a great addition to D'Antoni's system. He'll be used like Amare was.

Following Channing's footsteps sort of. Can anyone who watches more of the NBA explain why it is Channing is not a good fit anywhere? I seem to remember him having some decent games early in his first year or so and then ending up in Portland without much PT. Now sitting behind Oden and Aldridge. Is there a fit somewhere else for him?

Knicks wanted Curry or Rubio who were already taken, so I don't know why they were bitching, oh yeah I do, they're NY fans. Nothing seems to bother Hill though, he'll just go out and play as hard as he can, you can't teach that, NY fans don't really deserve that type of player, cause they won't appreciate him.
