PGU has learned Lamont "Momo" Jones will commit to Arizona

Sean Miller has done it again. Momo Jones will be a Wildcat. He has informed Sean Miller of his decision and the staff is thrilled to have him.

Oak Hill Academy star Lamont "MoMo" Jones became the latest member of the Southern California basketball program to abandon the Trojans.
A native of New York, Jones is 6-0, 175 but is considered more of a scorer than a point guard. This is the third time he has vacated a commitment to a college; he committed to Louisville and Virginia Tech before signing with USC.

Jones joins forward recruits Solomon Hill and Noel Johnson in accepting releases from the Trojans as the result of turmoil in the program resulting from the investigation into former guard O.J. Mayo's amateur status. The team also lost forwards Marcus Johnson, DeMar DeRozan and Taj Gibson and guard Daniel Hackett to the NBA draft.

Welcome to the program Momo! USC's loss is our gain. Will be interesting to see how the minutes shake out with all of our guards.

Solomn Hill never signed a LOI with USC thus he never had to get released. he just changed his mind.

It will be so refreshing to have real depth at a position. Finally, those that aren't ready can develop in practice, and those that can contribute will play, knowing if they don't play hard someone else will. Unlike the last few seasons where we could barely field a starting 5 followed by fringe talent on the bench. This will give Miller more options on defense and we can get back to playing at a fast pace.

I also love that Sean Miller hasn't given up on 2009. An article on that will be up soon, if I survive Ace's birthday bash.

From what I understand and correct me if I'm wrong; Lamont's career is considered to rival Brandon Jennings' career at Oak Hill. I came across some editorial a while back that mentioned he had equal to or greater success than the FLUNKY, Jennings, as the squad's PG. Can anyone provide details? Championships, overall records, etc...

btw- RJ is going to shine in San Antonio, no doubt.

I just can't wait to say "MO MO" when things go well. While I remain cautiously pessimistic, I am thinking more and more like a certain streak may remain in tact.

I think that this is great news about Momo. He adds depth which is much needed in 2009 but most importantly can take the pressure off Wise!

I am curious what his relationship is like with Lamb at Oak Hill. Will this help or hurt our chances with him?

Lol never said I don't like him. Now that he's committed I'm his biggest fan. We'll just have to see how 2010 recruiting shapes up now. I'm betting we take a PG regardless.

With the 2010 talent showing an interest in the Cats, we have to pull in a PG in that class.
