View Full Version : Week 7 Blowout Spread

This is a simple tourney: Pick 1 "blowout" game each week. This is worth 2 points in the overall football pick 'em championship

NEW RULE #1: You get 6 points! (instead of 3!)
NEW RULE #2: Team does not have to be DI, but at least on team must be from a BCS Conference and/or Top 25

RULES:

1. Your spread must be at least 18+ points

2. Whoever covers the highest blowout wins (For example, three members pick USC +32, LSU +24 and Oklahoma +34, if all three teams cover the spread, whoever picked Oklahoma wins because they predicted the higher blowout)

3. There will be no ties for first place (see next rule)

4. First to post gets advantage in ties (if two or more members cover the same blowout prediction of say 32+, the first to post gets win)

5. NEW RULE: You get a 6 point margin this week. For example, If you post Texas 27+, you actually get a win margin of 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32. The next person that posts on Texas must post at least Texas 33+ or Texas 22+ They cannot post a number that interfers with your 27-32

6. All posts are final. You cannot change your mind this week since we are using the above rule.

Even though BigRed made an illegal pick, apparently it defaulted him into the winning position. Nobody is going to top his spread. I guess I should have had more faith in Texas, they will have the biggest win of the day.

Wait so how does it work? We don't play who's the closest? Isn't that how Tex shared points cause he was the closest while JP had an "illegal" pick and they both got points.

You will have to ask BD08 on this one. If it was my decision, an illegal pick would be automatically disqualified, but BD08 made an adjustment for him and one or two other guys.

Big Red wins...

* after JP's mistake, we changed the rules so that if you make what was an illegal post, you know only get the credit for those number which remain legal. I recognize that it is difficult for people to keep track so this rule change makes it easier (rather than penalizing someone 100%, they get penalized for the #s that overlap)
