Javon Hayes, a 4star offensive lineman out of L.A., has commited to Arizona.
Hayes is 6-3 and 320 pounds.
Man, the recruits keep coming!!!!!!!!
Biography:
2005 - High School Football:
As a senior, Jovon earned first team all-league and first team all-city. Also selected to the LA Times All-Star team as well as being selected to the Max Emfinger All-American team.
As a junior, he had 100 pancake blocks and did not allow a sack. On defense, he saw spot-duty at defensive tackle and recorded 22 tackles, 20 of which were for losses. He also had one sack. Hayes was named first team all-league, all-conference and all-state underclass.
Final senior stats (10-3): Defensively, recorded 48 tackles, 20 for loss, three fumbles caused and two sacks. Offensively, had 70 pancake blocks and graded A- at his offensive guard position.
Hayes reports a 2.4 GPA/1180 SAT (new version)--fall retest. "I need to get a higher score on the next SAT to be fully qualified."
Hayes: "I work hard and I want to be one of the best. I am a very competitive person.
"And I have good technique. I try to stay low and I shoot my hips. That means I roll them into the other person," he explains. "When you make contact, you're back should be flat and you have to use your hips to lift your opponent up and control him.
"I need to get faster. That would help me get into linebackers better when I have to pull. I'll probably play offensive guard but the schools are also recruiting me for defense, which I like better. But you should probably put me with the offensive linemen for your rankings. I need to shoot my hands better into the other guy's chest on offense."
