Cats off to best Pac-10 start in school history

Arizona played without its closer for the second weekend in a row.

It played with three freshmen and three sophomores in the lineup.

It played with a sophomore starting pitcher on Thursday, a senior walk-on starter on Friday and a starter Saturday who suffered a broken elbow and three broken vertebrae in a motorcycle crash three months ago.

Despite all those apparent odds stacked against them, the 18th-ranked Wildcats extended their winning streak to 14 with a 5-3 victory over California on Saturday afternoon at Kindall/Sancet Stadium. Arizona (28-6) is 6-0 in Pac-10 play for the first time in program history.

The Cats are ranked as high as 8th in the polls right now. There's 4 polls in baseball and we're in the teens for every other poll. Still a great thing going on here. Lets sweep Stanford now!

Yes congrats on your season, its a long time from the CWS though but as long as Guilmet keeps pitching the way he has...damn

Not at all dude. BBall team started off hot then died. Baseball team started off just ok and has got on a tear!!!

I'd say that's a huge difference my friend.

UA beat WSU 3-1 on Friday. Guilmet had 12 strikeouts in 8 innings.
