Aaron Gordon is the highest profile recruit in Arizona history, bar none. I could tell you Aaron Gordon was coming to Arizona for certain and you would still be nervous. That’s how much Arizona fans want Aaron Gordon.
It’s been a weekend of paranoia as all the schools recruiting Aaron Gordon are worried about what the other one will try in a final attempt to land the highly coveted phenom. All knowing that Arizona is likely the team to beat.
The Aaron Gordon recruitment has been a roller coaster with the latest twist coming when Steve Alford was hired by UCLA. It was thought that Alford’s relationship with Gordon’s family combined with the prestige of the UCLA program could be enough to make a last minute push for Aaron. But it was just too late.
Before that, Gordon added Oregon back to the list of schools he was considering and that didn’t sit well with Arizona fans.
Gordon will announce his decision at 9:30 am Tucson time on Tuesday at the McDonald’s All American Game media day. PGU will be in attendance. We booked our flights a few weeks ago and it wasn’t just to interview 2013 Arizona commit Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Speaking of Hollis-Jefferson, he’s been sure to be in Gordon’s ear all weekend at the McDonald’s All American game events in Chicago.
We’ve felt Gordon was an Arizona lean for about six months and nothing we have learned has changed that. While it has been tough for Arizona to hold the lead for Gordon, it appears it will all work out on Tuesday.
I know some media in Washington and Oregon feel differently. But the next article we plan to publish on this site is an Aaron Gordon commitment article.
May the best team win for Aaron Gordon and good luck to him wherever he goes.
