2018 6’9 190 pound forward Miles Norris of Chula Vista, CA is a player the Arizona staff will not lose focus on over his recruitment process and even though he is only entering his junior season, he is a priority for Arizona.
PGU caught up with the 5 star forward and he talked to us about his game. “Offensively I run the floor well and the guards look for me in transition because I run hard so I can give them a chance to get assists and I can step out and hit the jump shot if I’m open. I just like to take what the defense gives me.”
A versatile player Norris is skilled in the open court as he is able to cover a lot of space with how long his frame is. He spoke to PGU about some players he likes to watch film on to further develop his game.
“I like to watch a lot of Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis, those guys are great players and on the defense side of the ball it has to be Kawhi Leonard who is probably the best defender in the league right now.”
“I just want to be able to guard as many positions as I can and its not something that I can do right now but I’m working hard on it.”
With the summer just about to get started the 5 star forward talked about what he is working on this time around, “getting stronger, rebounding on both sides of the ball and being more of a team leader.”
While planning his unofficial visits Norris listed a few things that he’s looking for, “just my relationship with the coaches to see if I fit in with them. Education is important to me so the school itself for sure.”
And when it comes to Arizona he had these things to say. “I talk to all the of the coaches and I like all of them. Miller emphasizes defense and that’s something that I really want to get better at. That’s the one thing that he focuses on so that would be good for me.”
Norris will be in Tucson to get more familiar with what Arizona has to offer as he plans to be town sooner rather than later. “I think I’m going to Arizona for the Red/Blue Scrimmage game so ill be down there for that.”
