Gerald Liddell (2018, Steele High School) is a top prospect out of Cibolo, Texas. Listed at 6’7, Liddell is a 5 star recruit currently rated the #1 small forward in the country for the 2018 class. He picked up an offer from Arizona last week as the Wildcats continue their pursuit of the highly talented Texas product.
Liddell is a highly sought after recruit and has received several offers including Texas, Houston, Iowa State, Baylor, SMU, NC State, Florida St, Tennessee, and Creighton. Liddell plans to visit Arizona during Christmas to meet with the coaching staff and catch a game at the McKale Center.
Originally from Tucson, Gerald Liddell is very familiar with the Arizona basketball program.
“Arizona brings players into the NBA, with Stanley Johnson and Aaron Gordon being former Wildcats, I like how they get players to the next level and the coaching staff is very good,” said Liddell.
He is a versatile small forward and is considered one of the most promising players in the 2018 class. With a 6’11 wingspan, he has drawn many comparisons to Kevin Durant.
Liddell was able to display his talents amongst the top players in the country at the USA basketball Junior National combine last month in Colorado Springs.
PointGuard U broke the news of the Arizona offer and Liddell had many good things to say about the offer and the Wildcats.
“I like how Coach Miller prides himself on the defensive end and that he lets his players play,” he told PGU.
Liddell possesses an all around game on both sides of the floor. He executes well in transition and can defend any position on the court.
“My greatest strength is my versatility, being tall your always classified as a post, but I know I will be playing as a guard at the next level,” he said.
