6’7 forward Mitch Lightfoot completed his final remaining official visit in Tucson this past weekend and the 200 pound Gilbert, Arizona native was able to really stretch his arms out and enjoy the trip from a different perspective.
Spending time on the Arizona campus in the past allowed for Lightfoot get a chance to feel what it’s like to be a scholarship athlete at Arizona.
“We’ll be headed down on Friday after school, they got another game to show me what they (UA fans) got,” Lightfoot told PGU.
Lightfoot spoke highly of the Wildcat fans prior to the game as he already had a feel for the energy that would be in attendance.
“I really did have a blast though. It was another good experience for me,” he said.
“Arizona is what they have been since coach Miller got there, a really good team,” he added.
With top-flight programs that are in the hunt for Lightfoot such as Arizona, Stanford, and Kansas, Lightfoot trusts that he has put in the work necessary to be able to have these opportunities.
“My intangibles and hard work has really put me in the position that I am in now,” Lightfoot said.
Though he doesn’t have an exact date set for his college decision, Lightfoot said he has a rough timetable.
“I’m sticking to the couple weeks for now,” he said.
A couple things stand out about Arizona for Lightfoot.
“I just really like the direction of where the team is headed and it has always been a dream to have the chance to play for a Final 4 caliber team,” he said.
